From April 1968 to April 1969, he served with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade during the most terrifying times of the Vietnam War. With just two weeks of duty, he and his company experience a horrific friendly-fire tragedy that shakes him to his core. Fourteen years later, on the verge of suicide, he had a spiritual awakening and was able to turn his life around.
